Work progress
Over the past 2/3 weeks I have spent time creating my front cover logo. I decided to hand draw my logo because I wasn't very interested in the fonts the computer already provided. I also thought it added a more personal touch to my work, and enables me to enhance my creative skills with drawing.

NME MAGAZINE COVER
I really like this magazine cover, though I feel it may be a little bit too busy for what I would like my magazine cover to be like. I like the christmas theme this magazine is presenting. I think by using a theme, the magazine is presenting a more worldwide theme that will appeal to a wider range of people. The audience for this magazine due to the image used on the cover is a lot larger than it would usually be when not presenting a holiday theme.
This magazine contains a few puffs/plugs that definitely encourage the audience to invest in the magazine, which is what I would like my magazine to do.
The colours on this magazine contrast really well and relate to the holiday theme appropriately.
Q MAGAZINE ANALYSIS:
This 'Q' magazine cover is another cover I found appealing and another influence for my final magazine cover. The contrast in colours makes the magazine cover more modern and it enhances the red on the magazine. Due to Florence's red hair and the Q magazine logo, red has been the colour the magazine has made most appealing for this issue.
This magazine presents a very clear puff and the coverlines being in red and black also stand out. I like the significance of the magazine logo, to the audience this is very noticeable and this enhances 'Q' magazine company's business.
KERRANG MAGAZINE ANALYSIS:
This Kerrang magazine is a good example of how I would like my final magazine for my coursework to look. The cover has a recognisable heading and is focusing on a well known band/artist. The magazine is filled with colours which enhance the appeal of the magazine and the images are focused at a teenage target audience.
This magazine presents a series of puffs, plugs and coverlines. These need to be included in my final magazine cover for my coursework as they are necessities in order to create a successful magazine.

BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE
I like this music magazine cover, it's classy and subtle. However, I feel it is more targeted towards an older audience, and I am more interested in targeting my magazine at a more youthful audience. The color scheme of this magazine is more warm, reds and pinks and the violin in the image contrasts well with the woman's clothing. I would like my colors to contrast well like this, however I am unsure of what colour scheme I would like to use for my magazine.
This magazine is quite simple, having a plain white background it isn't as attractive to the eye as I would like my magazine cover to be. I feel that by using a color, I would have been automatically attracted to this magazine in a shop, encouraging me to purchase the magazine.

FINAL CONTENTS
This is my final contents page. I chose to use a blue colour scheme to relate to the college's blue and green scheme.
I chose to use a photo I had used on my front cover, this is so both pages are related in some way, I also added a 'rounded' rectangle. I adjusted the opacity and so it was a lot more subtle and blended with the page better.
On both my front cover and contents page, I have used the font 'Helvetica' for smaller texts as it's a simple and professional font.
FRONT COVER
This is my final copy of my front cover, I added colour and used the gradient tool to produce my background colour scheme.
I used white text as this was the colour that showed up best on my chosen images and background. I added the logo I created using Adobe Illustrator to produce this final cover.
